Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Selena brings warmth, curiosity, compassion, and a calm, supportive presence to her work with individuals, couples, and families. With over 20 years of professional experience working with children, youth, and families, she brings both extensive life experience and a deep understanding of relationships, personal growth, and the challenges that can arise throughout different stages of life.

Selena has a particular passion for working with couples. She helps partners better understand one another, strengthen their emotional connection, improve communication, navigate conflict, rebuild trust, and work through difficult relationship patterns. Selena has completed Level 1 and Level 2 Gottman Method Couples Therapy training, along with additional Gottman training focused on affairs and trauma in couples therapy. Her couples work is also informed by EFT and attachment-based therapy, helping partners understand not only the conflicts occurring on the surface, but also the deeper emotional and attachment needs that may be contributing to disconnection.

Selena believes that many of the patterns we struggle with developed as ways of protecting ourselves through earlier relationships and experiences. Rather than judging or trying to eliminate these parts of ourselves, therapy can help us understand them with greater compassion. Through this process, old patterns can begin to loosen, creating space for healthier relationships, greater self-understanding, deeper connection, and a stronger sense of peace.

In her work with individuals, Selena enjoys helping clients better understand themselves, work through difficult emotions and experiences, and develop healthier patterns that allow them to feel more connected, confident, and at peace in their lives. As a trauma- and attachment-informed therapist, she recognizes how our earliest relationships and environments can shape how we see ourselves, relate to others, and respond to challenges later in life.

Selena’s holistic approach offers a deep understanding of childhood trauma, attachment, and nervous-system-informed care. She draws upon evidence-based modalities including CBT, EFT, existential therapy, and relational/attachment therapy. Time together is focused, deeply explorative, and tailored to each individual, couple, or family’s unique needs and experiences.

Selena is completing her Master’s in Counselling Psychology and is a qualifying member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She brings over 20 years of experience teaching in public systems, including working with at-risk youth, and previously founded a successful private preschool. As a mother of three grown children, Selena also brings extensive lived and professional experience in child development, parenting, and family relationships. Her background allows her to draw from both Eastern and Western perspectives in supporting her clients.
